We are happy to book you onto any available flights operated by reputable carriers such as TUI, Jet2, British Airways, Easyjet, Aegean Airlines and Sky Express. We will advise the actual flight timings at the time of booking, but please note that schedules may sometimes be subject to change. We will advise you of any significant schedule changes that may occur subsequently, but please be aware that such changes are outside our control, and only constitute a ‘major change‘ under the terms of our booking conditions if the departure time of your outbound flight changes by 12 hours or more from the timings confirmed on your original confirmation invoice.
Flights to Chios
The published prices for our holidays to Chios are based on scheduled flights with Aegean Airlines or Sky Express from London Heathrow via Athens. Flight connections are available on most days but may involve a night-time flight from London to Athens to avoid the need for an overnight stop in Athens. We can also arrange flights to Athens from Gatwick, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, but these may require an overnight stop in Athens either travelling out or coming back. Flights to Samos
The published prices for our holidays to Samos, Fourni & lkaria are based on direct charter flights from London Gatwick to Samos on Thursdays. There are no direct flights from any other UK airport to Samos or on any other days of the week. On other days, we can arrange flights from Gatwick, Heathrow, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh to Athens with an onward domestic flight to Samos, but please note that connections may involve a considerable wait, an overnight flight or the need for a stop-over in Athens. Travel to Ikaria
Ikaria's small airport is not designed to handle jets and is only served by small aircraft on domestic routes. Our holiday prices are therefore based on the above-mentioned flights to Samos with onward ferry connections. We provide transfers by taxi or minibus between Samos airport and the port of Karlovassi, which is a journey of just under an hour. If your flight is on time there maybe enough time at the ferry port for a meal or a snack. The ferry journey to the port of Agios Kirikos is usually two to three hours. We then provide a transfer by taxi or minibus to Armenistis, a journey of just over an hour. If you have elected to take our special rate hire car you will collect this at Agios Kirikos and we will provide you with accurate and up to date directions. Ferries between the islands are not daily and ferry timetables may not be confirmed until a few weeks before you are due to travel, so it may be necessary for us to accommodate you for one or two nights on Samos at the start and/or end of your holiday.
Alternatively, we can arrange travel to Ikaria with flights to Athens from Gatwick, Heathrow, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester or Edinburgh and an onward domestic flight, but please note that these normally involve an overnight stop in Athens either on the way out or on the way back.
Travel to Fourni
Fourni has no airport, so travel to the island involves flying to Samos and an onward ferry connection. We provide transfers by taxi or minibus between Samos airport and the port of Karlovassi, which is a journey of just under an hour. The ferry journey typically takes between one and three hours. Ferry schedules vary from year to year and month to month and are only normally published about a month beforehand. As ferries between Samos and Fourni are not daily, it may be necessary for us to accommodate you for one or two nights on Samos at the start and/or end of your holiday. Once you arrive on Fourni, all the accommodation is just a few minutes on foot from the harbourside.
Multi-Centre Holidays
As the most straight-forward way to reach Ikaria and Fourni is generally via Samos, our holidays on these three islands can be combined with each other. To avoid spending too much time in transit, we would advise limiting yourself to two islands and staying for one week on each, but this is entirely down to your own preferences (please note, however, that some of our properties may not accept short-stay bookings during high season).
These days, some flights operate directly (albeit infrequently) from Heraklion to Samos and Ikaria, so we can also arrange twin-centre holidays combining Samos or Ikaria with Crete. To travel between Crete and Chios requires flights via Athens; but direct fligths and ferries operate once or twice per week between Samos and Chios.
