Itinerary
Day 1: Flight to Istanbul Airport and transfer to your hotel
Day 2: TRABZON – After breakfast we catch a flight to Trabzon. On arrival
transfer to our hotel and visit St. Sophia in Trabzon. (BD)
Day 3: SUMELA MONASTERY – Excursion to the picturesque Sumela
Monastery and option to have a picnic lunch in the national park before
returning to Trabzon (B)
Day 4: BLACKSEA COAST – SAVSAT HOME STAY – We will travel along the
Black Sea coastline and then arrive to Savsat where we will be guests of locals
(BD)
Day 5: SAVSAT HOME STAY – There will be various grade walks from the
village where we will be staying. We will pack our lunch in the morning before
we start our walks (BLD)
Day 6: KARS – ANI – After breakfast we will leave our home stay and drive to
Kars where we will be visiting Ani, the 10th century Armenian Capital (B)
Day 7: ISHAKPASA – VAN – Today we will drive past Mt. Ararat to Ishakpasa
Palace. After our visit we will drive to Van where we will be staying two nights.

Day 8: AKDAMAR ISLAND – Excursion to Akdamar Island on Turkey's largest
lake, where we will visit the Church of the Holy Cross. (B)
Day 9: MARDIN – Drive to Mardin via Hasankeyf. On arrival we will have a
tour of Old Mardin (BD)
Day 10: MT. NEMRUT – Free morning in Mardin for futher exploration, then
drive to Kahta for an excursion to the summit of Mt. Nemrut to see the
massive Commagene stone heads. (BD)
Day 11: URFA – Drive to Urfa to visit Harran and Gobekli Tepe. On the way
we will see Turkey's largest dam (BD)
Day 12: GAZIANTEP – ANTAKYA – Today we will visit the mosaics of
Zeugma in Gaziantep on our way to Antioch where St. Paul started his
missionary journey (BD)
Day 13: ANTAKYA – We will visit the old Antioch and the mosaic museum
before catching a flight back to Istanbul. Tonight we have our farewell dinner
(BD)
Day 14: ISTANBUL – After breakfast, transfer to Istanbul Airport for your
departure flight home (B)
