With their scenic clifftop setting on the edge of the island capital, these charming apartments offer peaceful yet convenient accommodation with the added bonus of a swimming pool.

Standing in a quiet, residential cul-de-sac on the cliff east of the town centre, just beyond the Parador, this small apartment complex offers practical self-catering accommodation in an enviable location. The views from here down to the ocean and beyond towards Tenerife's mighty Mount Teide are superb, and whilst the setting is peaceful and relaxing, the town centre is just a 20-minute walk downhill, so it is possible to enjoy dinner without having to worry about driving afterwards. Should you not fancy the uphill walk back after dinner, local taxis are fairly inexpensive, or you could of course choose to dine at the Parador - just a five-minute walk away - which is widely regarded as having the finest restaurant on the island.

Chijeré itself is an attractively designed two-storey building with whitewashed walls and pan-tiled roofs and typically Canarian windows. It contains nine apartments, each suitable for up to three adults or two adults and two children

Each apartment comprises a living room with a sofa bed, a kitchen with full cooker, a bedroom with twin beds and built-in wardrobes, shower room. Whilst not overly luxurious, the apartments are well maintained and offer all the essentials for a relaxing stay. Ground floor apartments have their own terraces, whilst those on the upper floor have shaded balconies.

All the apartments face the stone-flagged sun terrace, which is bordered by colourful, flowering shrubs and which incorporates a freeform, freshwater swimming pool. Sunloungers are provided to allow you to enjoy the peaceful ambience, soak up the rays on sunny days and marvel at the lovely ocean views.

Although the town centre is conveniently close, we have included a hire car in your holiday at Chijeré, as the walk back from the centre would be a little strenuous when carrying heavy shopping. The hire car will also enable you to explore the remainder of the island, and to visit some of the volcanic beaches and hidden coves along the coast. For those who prefer not to drive, we can also quote for transfers from the port instead of car hire.
