Situated right on the seafront on the edge of the district of Playa, Los Tarajales offers value-for-money self-catering accommodation in a convenient yet relatively peaceful location. The centre of Playa is a five-minute stroll or so away and has plenty of restaurants, sufficient shops for your day-to-day needs and several bars. As its name implies, Playa also boasts a beach, which - although volcanic and dark - is long and sandy. The local naturist beach, Playa del Ingles, lies a little further outside the village and can be reached on foot in around 10-15 minutes.

One of the smaller self-catering complexes in Valle Gran Rey, Los Tarajales comprises 20 studios and the same number of apartments with a separate bedroom, arranged across three buildings, each with two floors. Although not overly luxurious, they are practically furnished, attractively decorated and well maintained. The studios are all on the ground floor and have twin beds, a sitting area, an open-plan kitchenette with fridge and electric hob, a bathroom and a terrace. Telephones, satellite TV and safety deposit boxes are provided in each studio; a local charge applies for the use of the latter two.

The apartments are of a similar size and offer the same facilities, but are divided into a lounge with a sofa bed (suitable for a child of up to 12 years of age) and a separate bedroom with twin beds. Being situated on the upper floor, the apartments have balconies with sea views. Families requiring two-bedroom accommodation can rent an apartment together with the studio below, as they are linked by a small hallway.

There is a public bus service to the island capital, San Sebastián, four times a day, and both San Sebastián and the south coast village of Playa Santiago can also be visited by boat. Alternatively, those planning to explore extensively should consider taking advantage of our special car hire rates

For those occasions when you simply wish to relax at base, there is a seawater swimming pool surrounded by a paved terrace with sunloungers and parasols, and a pretty garden with a springy lawn, palm trees and flowering shrubs. There is also a paddling pool for younger guests.
