Situated close to the water's edge in Kalkan's sought-after Kisla area, this charming property offers flexible accommodation on a self-catering or bed & breakfast basis.

Consisting mainly of individually designed private villas and a handful of small hotels and guesthouses, the Kisla area to the south of the Bay of Kalkan has become the preferred choice of travellers seeking a more peaceful alternative to Kalkan's bustling centre, whilst still being within easy reach of this atmospheric resort. Less than three kilometres from the heart of Kalkan with its cobbled lanes lined with quirky shops and enticing restaurants, Kisla is now well served by a regular dolmus as well as water-taxis during the day, and even if you wish to stay out beyond the public transport schedule, a taxi back from the centre won't break the bank. But days can be spent in peace, swimming, relaxing and enjoying the splendid vistas.

And few places could be better placed to do so than the Bay View Residence, as it stands in the first row from the sea, with uninterrupted views across the bay towards the village, and boasts not only a lovely swimming pool, but also its own rocky beach area with ladder access into the calm clear waters of the bay, just a flight of steps down from the accommodation. The Bay View Residence belongs to the same family as our popular Jasmine Villas (see previous page), whose guests also have use of the beach area, and offers extremely versatile accommodation, making it suitable for couples, families, and even groups of up to 12 friends.

On the ground floor is the communal lounge and dining area, opening onto the sea-facing terrace. The first and second floors each contain two double or triple bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, mini-bars, air-conditioning, TV and balconies with lovely sea views. On the top floor there is a family suite which consists of two similarly equipped bedrooms with sloping ceilings, one shower room and a huge terrace with a useful outside kitchenette and magnificent views. These individual rooms can be booked on a bed & breakfast basis.

For those who prefer self-catering accommodation, the first floor also contains a spacious living room with a fully-equipped kitchen, which together with the two bedrooms on this floor forms a completely self-contained apartment for up to 5 people. A similar living room on the second floor turns this into another two-bedroom apartment, or even a four-bedroom apartment when linked with the top-floor suite. All the accommodation is comfortably furnished and attractively decorated in pastel shades.

Those keen to explore this fascinating region of Turkey would be well-advised to take advantage of our special car hire rates, but those who prefer not to drive and who primarily seek rest and relaxation do not necessarily need their own transport. When you don't feel like going into Kalkan, dinner is available at the Bay View itself and at another nearby restaurant, and there is a local mini-market within walking distance, although it should be noted that the area is quite steep and not best suited to those with walking difficulties.
