Bungalows Atlantic Gardens

The Canary IslandsLanzarote › Playa Blanca

Situated to the west of Playa Blanca, these bungalows offer practical and reasonably priced accommodation in a quiet yet convenient location.

Conveniently yet peacefully situated on the western outskirts of Playa Blanca, these popular bungalows are aptly named, for they stand in extensive grounds sloping down towards the Atlantic, with lovely views across the ocean to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. Being a well-established complex, the gardens have had plenty of time to mature, and the many palm trees and flowering shrubs amidst which the 105 bungalows are embedded certainly add to the visual appeal of their scenic location.

The bungalows are spread out along prettily laid-out footpaths, and due to the sloping nature of the site, are perhaps not suited to those with serious walking difficulties. Each has its own terrace with appealing garden views, but due to the mature vegetation, not all catch a glimpse of the sea. Whilst the bungalows vary slightly in outlook, they are all identical in terms of layout and equipment. Practically furnished and brightly decorated, each comprises a living room with a sofa bed for the third person, TV, telephone and safety deposit box (local charge applies); an open-plan kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker, a bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom with a short bathtub, WC, basin and hairdryer.

The extensive sunbathing terrace contains two enticing swimming pools (the smaller of which can be heated) as well as a shallow paddling pool for young children. Other communal facilities include a reception building, a snack-bar, a games room with internet corner, a small mini-market for basic provisions and a coin-operated launderette. Also on site, you will find a children's playground, a crazy-golf course, and table tennis. There is also a tennis court (payable locally).

Walking along the seafront footpath, you reach the delightfully sheltered sandy beach of Playa Flamingo after approximately 800 metres, and here you will also find the nearest cluster of restaurants as well as a couple of well-stocked grocery shops. The port and the centre of Playa Blanca are approximately 1.5 km away, and boast a wide selection of eating places as well as a good choice of tempting boutiques and shops for all your day-to-day needs. Those simply planning a relaxing seaside holiday will therefore find little need to hire a car, but those keen to explore the island at their own pace should make use of the special car hire rates offered for those collecting a hire car on arrival at the airport.
