Offering top quality self-catering accommodation in a peaceful yet convenient setting, these splendid apartments are destined to become a firm favourite amongst walkers, nature-lovers and relaxation-seekers. Finca Vista Bonita stands in a quiet, residential street on a hillside above the charming inland village of San Miguel de Abona. The beautiful views that the property's name implies stretch over the rooftops of the village across farmland and unspoilt countryside to the distant south coast.

Although the apartments were built fairly recently and thus offer a thoroughly up-to-date level of comfort, they also boast plenty of traditional charm, thanks to the attractive design of the building, the tasteful choice of fixtures and furnishings and the imaginative use of reclaimed materials. Of the 17 apartments, three have two bedrooms and accommodate up to five people, whilst the remainder have one bedroom for 2-3 people.

All have separate lounges with satellite-TV and DVD players; small but well equipped kitchens with electric hobs, microwave ovens, fridges, kettles and toasters, and bathrooms with hairdryers. Just as importantly, each apartment has a large, south-facing terrace from which to enjoy the panoramic views.

The village centre is just over 1 km away, but there is a patisserie just a few doors down, and a typical local grill restaurant just across the street, so you are not completely dependent on the hire car that is included in your holiday here. The small farm next door sells fresh eggs and vegetables, and there is a supermarket in the village, as well as a few other shops and eating places.

Using your car, you can easily reach the sandy beach at El Médano, which is just 13 km away, explore other nearby hill villages, or head high into the mountains to the Teide National Park. The island capital, Santa Cruz, and the old university town of La Laguna can be reached along the south-coast motorway in just over an hour.

As well as being a handy base for exploring, Finca Vista Bonita offers an excellent range of facilities and services for those who simply wish to relax and unwind. There is a small but imaginatively designed indoor swimming pool with an adjacent Jacuzzi, perfect to soothe tired muscles after a day spent hiking in the mountains. You will also find a launderette, a small gym, a little library and a games room, and there is a meditation room where free meditation workshops and beginners' Spanish lessons are held (subject to sufficient demand). For those wishing to dedicate their holiday to rebalancing their energies, a diverse range of massage treatments and traditional Chinese remedies is also offered on site; these are payable locally. However, many guests find that relaxing in the garden or on their balcony and taking in the views, the clean air and the tranquillity of this lovely spot is all that is required to achieve inner harmony.
