This cluster of villas - each with its own pool - is just a 10-minute drive from Rethymnon and from a long sandy beach.

The village of Gerani straddles the hillside a few kilometres west of Rethymnon and just above the village, commanding panoramic views of the coastline below, are the Gerani Villas. The four villas are detached, each set in its own garden with its own good sized swimming pool and the whole site is enclosed by pretty stone walls.

Each villa is designed and fitted to the same high standard with a large open plan living room and kitchen on the ground floor as well as a double bedroom and cloakroom. The lounge area is comfortably furnished with a large sofa and easy chair and has a large satellite TV and a working fireplace. The kitchen and dining area is equally well appointed and is fully fitted with an oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher.

On the first floor are two or three further bedrooms, one double and one (or two) twin, and a generous bathroom with twin handbasins, a full size bath and a washing machine. All the bedrooms have french doors leading onto a terrace with superb views across the coastline and back towards the mountains.

Guests who wish to dine in their own garden can make use of the barbecue area and stock up on all the essentials in the village shops, just under a kilometre away, as not only are there two mini markets but also a bakery and a butcher's shop. For nights out there are a couple of tavernas in the village or Rethymnon with all its attractions is just a 10 minute drive away.

Gerani's location is ideal for beach lovers as to the west of the village a long sweep of sand, with some laid back beachside tavernas, runs all the way to the pretty little resort of Georgioupols and to the east of Rethymnon the busier beaches can provide all manner of watersports. Inland from the village the foothills of the mountains provide excellent terrain for walkers and nature lovers.
