Hotel Atalaya

The Canary IslandsTenerife › Puerto de la Cruz

Standing in delightfully mature gardens above the Taoro Park, this comfortable hotel is ideal for guests wishing to enjoy the attractions of Puerto de la Cruz whilst being away from the hubbub of the town's busy centre.

Peacefully situated on the edge of the Taoro Park, this comfortable and well-run hotel is suited to guests wishing to stay close enough to the centre of Puerto to enjoy all of the town's attractions, but preferring a more tranquil location away from the busy town centre. Enjoying sweeping views over the town and across the Orotava Valley to Mount Teide from its elevated position, the Atalaya is a well-established hotel that has built up a loyal clientele over the last three decades.

The hotel's guestrooms have been refurbished in an attractive, contemporary style and are equipped with all the customary 4-star comforts, including mini-bars, satellite TV, air-conditioning (centrally regulated), telephones and hairdryers. Superior Rooms have the added benefit of lovely views across the gardens to the Taoro park and Mount Teide. In addition, the hotel also has a number of Suites with a bedroom and a separate lounge.

Special privileges for guests in the Superior Rooms and Suites include the provision of bathrobes, fresh fruit and wine in your room on arrival.

The hotel offers a reasonably-priced half board option but for those who prefer to try out some of the different local eateries down in the town, we also offer the hotel on a bed ∓ breakfast basis.

The Atalaya's most outstanding feature is its mature subtropical garden, so if you wish to spend some of your holiday just relaxing at base, the surroundings couldn't be more conducive. The large freshwater swimming pool can be heated and is surrounded by terraces with sun-loungers and umbrellas, whilst elsewhere in the garden you will find a floodlit tennis court (payable locally), table tennis, a giant chess set and a boules pitch.

Those who wish to explore the rest of the island should take advantage of our special reduced car hire rates, but for guests who prefer not to drive, a car is by no means a necessity here. The centre of Puerto de la Cruz is approximately 1.5 km away through the Taoro park and down a number of steps, and the hotel provides a courtesy bus service on weekdays, so even if you do opt for the car-inclusive option, which does represent particularly good value, you needn't worry about finding somewhere to park in the centre of town.
