Perfectly situated for those who wish to enjoy the unique treasures of Cappadocia without necessarily having to drive a hire car, this delightful little hotel also boasts its own small swimming pool - a bonus that is usually only found in larger, international-style hotels in this region. Ukabeyn, however, comprises just two cave rooms, three barrel-vaulted rooms and one suite, creating a wonderfully homely and intimate ambience. All the rooms are comfortably furnished and prettily decorated, and have en suite bath or shower rooms. The suite can accommodate families of up to four people.
Ukabeyn is situated on the edge of Sinasos (also known as Mustafapasa), one of Cappadocia's best-preserved villages and a thriving community with a handful of shops, two wineries and a few charming restaurants. The village is surrounded by excellent walking country, with some splendid yet little-visited churches nearby that can also be reached using Ukabeyn's own mountain bikes. Several buses a day run to the larger village of Urgup (5 km), and organised excursions, including hot-air balloon trips can be arranged.
Mehmet, who looks after Ukabeyn, prepares a wholesome breakfast to set you up for the day, and can provide snacks and cold drinks should you choose to relax by the pool and admire the views. The hotel also has a small reference library to help you plan your next day's outing.
