Tucked into bend in the hillside of the stunning Gulf of Mirabello, the Istron Bay Hotel not only has a near perfect setting but also a long established tradition of good old-fashioned hospitality and comfort.
The hotel was cleverly constructed to seemingly cascade down the hillside and ensure that each of the spacious rooms has a balcony that faces out to sea. On the lower floors the standard rooms have all the facilities that you would expect in a hotel of this standard, including air-conditioning, satellite televisions, full bathrooms, mini-bars, safety deposit boxes and direct dial telephones. The higher superior rooms are slightly larger with a corner seating area and deckchairs and sun umbrellas on the balcony and guests in these rooms are entitled to eat in the seaside Meltemi restaurant in addition to the main dining room, where delicious breakfast and dinner buffets are served. In a separate building in the landscaped grounds the garden junior suites offer even more spacious accommodation in a very tranquil setting.
The terraced grounds are filled with palm trees, shrubs and flowers, which enhance the magnificent setting and the large seawater pool hovers enticingly above the gentle curve of the beach below. In addition there is a palm enclosed tennis court, which can be floodlit and other sporting activities can be arranged according to the season. Watersports are available from the beach and there is even a diving school on site. On some evenings there is live music and entertainment but there are plenty of corners for those who prefer just to drink in the views over a quiet drink.
The area has plenty to explore, including Agios Nikolaos, with its enticing lakeside cafes, numerous Minoan and classical sites and countless mountain villages so whether you are seeking a relaxing holiday by the sea or comfortable base to return to each evening the Istron Bay Hotel will fit the bill.
