CreteThe Far East › Near Sitia

Situated just a five-minute drive west of Sitia, these newly built villas each have their own pool, making them as suitable for complete relaxation as for exploring the island's unspoilt east from a comfortable base.

Situated just 2 km west from the charming harbour town of Sitia, this small and attractively designed complex finally brings comfortable villa accommodation to this delightfully authentic corner of Crete. The twelve villas are set in three terraces, all embedded within an extensive olive grove and benefitting from lovely views of both the sea and the mountains. Each villa has its own swimming pool (approximately 4 x 8 metres), and several balconies or terraces from which to enjoy the peaceful setting and admire the splendid views.

Designed to reflect traditional Cretan architecture, with plenty of natural stone and wood used in the construction, the villas are nevertheless of an excellent modern standard. Downstairs, each villa has a spacious living-dining room with a fireplace, a sofa bed and a flat-screen TV, as well as an open-plan kitchen fitted with a four-ring hob, an oven, a microwave and a fridge and equipped with useful extras including kettles, coffee-makers and sandwich toasters. A washing machine and an iron and board are also provided in each villa. The bedrooms and rather stylish bathrooms are located upstairs. Six of the villas have just the one bedroom with a double bed, making them perfect for couples wishing to enjoy the luxury of their own private swimming pool without having to pay over the odds for superfluous space; the other six have one double and one twin bedroom, making them suitable for families of up to five people (when using the sofa-bed downstairs).

In spite of the villas' scenic and peaceful setting, they are just the shortest of drives from Sitia, and thus offer easy access to an excellent range of local restaurants, many of them setting out their tables by the quayside. Sitia also boasts a decent selection of shops for your day-to-day needs, and most importantly a long sandy beach, which has been awarded the EU's Blue Flag. The coves of Platani, Traxilas and Papadiokampos - excellent for swimming and snorkeling are within 5 - 10 minutes' drive from the villas, whilst the east coast beach of Vai, famed for its palm grove, can be reached by car in 25 minutes.
