Perched on the cliff side overlooking the small beach resort of Playa del Cura, with its own lift providing easy access to the beach and seafront, this modern aparthotel offers spacious and stylish accommodation for couples and families alike. Playa del Cura is an ideal location for travellers seeking a relaxing seaside holiday in the sunny south of Gran Canaria, with a dark-sand beach, a handful of local restaurants, a small shopping centre for holiday essentials and a pleasantly laid-back atmosphere. For those keen to explore a little further afield, or just wishing to occasionally visit one of the larger and livelier resorts along the coast, there is a regular bus service to Puerto de Mogan with its picturesque marina (just a few miles north from here), and all the way along the south and east coasts via the popular resorts of Puerto Rico, Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles to the island capital Las Palmas, so a hire car is by no means necessary.

The hotel's 94 rooms and suites are divided between three tiered buildings. Standard rooms are modern and comfortable and come equipped with centrally controlled air-conditioning, telephone, satellite TV (limited English-language channels), a small fridge, tea/coffee-making facilities and safety deposit boxes (local charge applies). The en-suite shower rooms have hairdryers, and each room has a balcony or terrace with patio furnishings. Junior Suites consist of a bedroom with twin beds and a separate living room with a sofa bed, and boast ocean views from their balconies and terraces. Junior Suites also have open-plan kitchenettes, which are equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee-maker, but no hob or oven, so they are intended for making drinks and heating up snacks rather than any actual cooking. There are also a number of larger suites with two separate bedrooms, but like the standard rooms these do not necessarily have sea views.

Panoramic views of the sea can be enjoyed from the communal terraces at different levels of the complex. One of these incorporates a swimming pool that can be heated during the winter season, and naturally there are plenty of sun-loungers to soak up the rays in what is statistically one of the sunniest corners of the island. A pool-bar is open during the daytime for chilled drinks and light snacks.

In the hotel's restaurant, breakfast is served as an extensive buffet, whilst for those opting for the half board option, dinner is either presented buffet style or served at the table from a table d'hote menu, depending on occupancy levels. Those who prefer the flexibility of dining around will find a handful of restaurants in Playa del Cura, as well as a small supermarket and pharmacy, whilst a much wider selection of eating places, shops and nightlife can be found a 4-km bus ride away in the larger resort of Puerto Rico.

Other facilities at Riviera Vista include a gym, a sauna and a steam room. Limited roadside parking is available along the access road to the hotel. WiFi is available free of charge in the reception area, or in the rest of the complex for an additional local charge.
