Villas Casa Vieja

The Canary IslandsFuerteventura › La Oliva

A cluster of detached three-bedroom villas offering stylish accommodation, private swimming pools and use of the facilities of the small adjacent rural hotel

Situated next to the Hotel Boutique Casa Vieja, and under the same ownership, is a cluster of eleven detached villas, each standing in its own garden and boasting a private swimming pool (approximately 3 x 6 metres).

Unlike the hotel, which was converted from an early-20th-century building, the villas were newly built in 2007 and all are therefore identical in size and layout. That is not to say that they lack character, however, for the furnishings and decorative elements imported from India create a stylish and distinctive ambience. Marble floors, attractive light fittings and well chosen prints on the walls add further to the elegant fee of the interiors.

Each villa has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master bedroom on the upper floor has an en-suite marble bathroom and its own terrace. The other two bedrooms are on the ground floor, one of these also has an en-suite bathroom, and there is a separate shower room for the third bedroom. The living area with its pitched wooden ceiling feels particularly spacious and the adjoining dining area is equally well furnished. The fitted kitchens are equipped with a full range of appliances including a ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher, as well as all the utensils needed for proper self-catering. For those who prefer to cook outdoors, there is also a barbecue and another dining table and chairs on the shaded terrace for al-fresco meals.

When you don't feel like cooking, the nearest restaurant is a minute's walk away at the Hotel Boutique Casa Vieja, and villa guests are also welcome to use the hotel's other facilities, such as the bar and lounge area. Those valuing the space of a villa but with no intention of catering for themselves can even book half-board at the hotel. Alternatively, a selection of other eating places can be found in the villages of La Oliva and Villaverde, and the nearest mini-market is just a short stroll away. For a much wider range of shops and restaurants, the resort of Corralejo is a 15-minute drive away and boasts some of the island's best beaches, as well as access to nightlife for those seeking occasional entertainment.
