TurkeyKalkan and Kas › Kas

Three identical villas, each with an additional "granny flat", in a beautiful setting overlooking the Greek island of Kastellorizo.

Offering just the right blend of cosmopolitan flair and authentic Turkish charm, the seaside town of Kas is becoming increasingly popular with discerning holidaymakers of all ages, so we are delighted to be able to enhance our portfolio here with these recently built villas, which offer spacious accommodation for larger families and groups of friends. The three detached villas stand in a peaceful residential area on the southern shore of the Cukurbag peninsula, amidst other attractively designed private homes and a handful of small hotels. Thanks to the steeply sloping terrain and the fact that the villas are staggered, each enjoys lovely views across the sea towards the small Greek island of Kastellorizo (Meis).

Apart from being painted in different citrus shades according to their names, the villas are identical in all other respects. Air-conditioned throughout, the interiors are elegantly furnished and decorated in calm, neutral tones, with well-chosen rugs and kilims adding the odd splash of colour and a hint of traditional Turkish character. The ground floor of each villa is open plan and comprises a comfortable lounge area with feature fireplace and flatscreen satellite TV, a dining table for up to eight people and an excellent fitted kitchen with a full range of stainless steel appliances, including a gas hob, fan-assisted oven, microwave, dishwasher and a large fridge-freezer. On the upper floor there are three bedrooms, two of which have their own balconies, and a family bathroom (there is also a shower room on the ground floor). From the living areas, large patio doors open onto a terrace with a freeform infinity swimming pool, lined with pretty mosaic tiles and complete with miniature palm island.

Whilst each villa will comfortably accommodate up to six people, for larger parties there is also a self-contained studio on the lower ground floor of each villa (which is never rented out separately). Accessed independently from the garden, and comprising a bedroom and a shower room, this is also ideal for grown-up children, accompanying grandparents or any other members of your party requiring a greater degree of privacy.

For those who prefer sea swimming, several rocky swimming platforms can easily be reached on foot, whilst the shingle beach at the base of the peninsula is just the shortest of drives away. As well as making stocking up on groceries in the town easier, the hire car that is included in your holiday at these villas will enable you to explore some of the various archaeological sites and other attractions that lie within easy reach of Kas, but you are not wholly dependant on your car here. The nearest restaurant is less than 500 metres away, and the local bus service connecting the peninsula with the centre of Kas stops close to the villas, another advantage for families with children who are old enough to want a degree of independence, but too young to drive a hire car.
