Our Turkish selection would not be complete without the inclusion of
Istanbul, the ultimate city of contrasts where east meets west. You
can choose to just take a short city break or combine a few days in
Istanbul with many of our other holidays.
Our hotels have been chosen firstly for their locations in the
historic part of the city allowing our guests to be within walking
distance of not only the celebrated Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and St
Sophia and the vibrant Grand Bazaar but also many of its other famous
attractions. In addition they are all restored Ottoman houses which
ooze the atmosphere and service of the Istanbul of yesteryear whilst
still providing modern comforts. To allow you flexibility they are all
offered on a bed & breakfast basis.

The Celal Sultan is one of our favourite period hotels in the heart of the
Sultanahmet district, much praised by our guests for its comfortable
accommodation and friendly, personal atmosphere. The hotel comprises 34
beautifully furnished rooms with en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, direct
dial telephones, cable TV, minibars, safety deposit boxes and hairdryers. It
also boasts some family rooms for up to four people (with two linked rooms and
two shower rooms), as well as a number of spacious suites for those celebrating
a special occasion or simply wishing to spoil themselves. The service is both
attentive and discreet making it an ideal base for a relaxed city break within
easy walking distance of all of Istanbul's major attractions.

The
Arena was elegantly restored by the current owner from the family
home of her birth. The overall effect is stylish but faithful to the
traditional materials and furnishings of an Ottoman stone house. It
now has just 27 rooms and 4 suites all furnished in classic Turkish
style but with the addition of modern facilities and creature comforts
such as air-conditioning and heating, hairdryers, cable TV, minibars,
direct-dial telephones, laundry service and personal safes. There are
both indoor and garden restaurants, each seating just 30 diners and
a domed Turkish Bath complete with cooling-down room and Vitamin Bar.
