Two restored farm cottages in an utterly peaceful rural setting, a short drive from the nearest village with local restaurants and facilities

Situated approximately 3 km from the inland villages of La Oliva and Villaverde in the north of the island, this charming property stands in completely tranquil surroundings in the rural Fimbapaire valley. Often, the only sound to be heard is the tinkling of goat bells carried on the wind from goats grazing on nearby pastures, whose milk is used in making the island's famous goats' cheese.

Believed to be over 200 years old, Casa Fimbapaire was restored and converted into two self-contained holiday homes in 1992, each offering unpretentious accommodation full of simple, rustic charm, with thick stone walls, old ceiling beams and tiled or stone-flagged floors.

Casa Fimbapaire A has two bedrooms, one with an antique double bed, the other with two single beds, and a bathroom with bathtub. The spacious living room has a sofa and two armchairs and leads through to the rustic kitchen with a gas hob and oven, a fridge and a large dining table. There is also an outside table and chairs on the terrace in front of the house, which enjoys views across the valley to the arid mountains.

Casa Fimbapaire B is smaller, having just one bedroom (with a small double bed), plus an additional bed in a partially screened-off area of the living room. There is also a separate kitchen, a bathroom and a patio with chairs.

The nearby village of La Oliva has all the amenities you are likely to need on a day-by-day basis, including a bank, a pharmacy, a bakery, a small supermarket and a few local restaurants. The nearest beaches are approximately 18 kms away along good, straight roads, either at El Cotillo or at Corralejo, where you will also find a much wider range of shops, restaurants and other tourist facilities. In the opposite direction, the airport, the island capital Puerto del Rosario and the golf course at Caleta del Fuste are approximately 30 km away, so whilst Casa Fimbapaire will suit those seeking a truly relaxing holiday away from the busy resorts, it is easy enough to get around using the hire car included in your holiday.
