The original Residencia Las Norias is an attractive cluster of ten apartments and bungalows of varying sizes and layouts, embedded in lovely subtropical gardens. Such has been their popularity that a further cluster of 12 apartments has been added nearby. Perched above the west coast, with fine views across the extensive banana plantations of this area down to the ocean, Las Norias is peacefully situated, yet also very convenient.
The nearest restaurant is just a 3-minute walk away at the top of the small lane that leads down to the accommodation, whilst two other restaurants are just 5 minutes further, walking in either direction along the road that leads from the charming town of Los Llanos de Aridane to the beach resort of Puerto Naos. Las Norias is roughly equidistant from these two places, so both can be reached by car in less than 15 minutes, and just beyond Puerto Naos are two further black sand beaches, Charco Verde and the island's only naturist beach, Playa de las Monjas.
The accommodation at Las Norias is arranged in several small buildings and is of a good standard. The various bungalows and apartments vary in size and layout, but all have a lounge with an open-plan kitchen, one or two bedrooms and a shower room. White-washed walls, cool floor tiles and modern furnishings give the interiors a light, uncluttered feel, and each bungalow/apartment has its own sizeable terrace or garden area for undisturbed relaxation.
The main focal point of the large, mature gardens is of course the swimming pool, which has a shallow section for children.
The Residencia's friendly Italian owner, Paolo Rovera, pops in regularly to ensure that guests are settled in comfortably, and he will be happy to offer any local advice or assistance. He can also arrange for you to have fresh bread rolls delivered in the morning, so there is no need to go shopping before breakfast.
