Situated on Valle Gran Rey's seafront close to the fishing harbour of vueltas, this attractively designed building offers apartments for couples and families.

Situated next to the Jardin del Conde apartments, Residencial del Conde is a smaller complex with just 28 apartments. The building's architecture reflects Canarian traditions, as the accommodation is arranged around a very attractive, glass-covered patio, with a pretty stone fountain as its centrepiece and balustraded walkways leading to the individual apartments.

Valle Gran Rey is somewhat short of family-sized accommodation, as most properties offer only studios or one-bedroom apartments. Residencial del Conde is a welcome exception, boasting a number of larger apartments comprising a twin bedroom, a single bedroom and a lounge with a sofa-bed suitable for one adult or two children. The remaining apartments do not have the single bedroom but still have a sofa bed in the lounge. Each apartment also has an open-plan kitchenette with a fridge and a hob, a modern bathroom and a balcony equipped with patio furniture. Satellite TV (with limited English-language channels) is provided in each apartment.

On the roof of the Residencial there is a spacious sun terrace with lovely views of both the ocean in front and the valley and mountains to the rear. There is also a small rooftop swimming pool, perfect for an early morning swim or a refreshing dip after a day's hiking or sightseeing, whilst those who prefer sea-swimming need only cross the road the reach the volcanic beach, Charco del Conde.

Whilst Valle Gran Rey is small and extremely relaxed compared to the beach resorts on some of the larger Canary Islands, it does boast a decent choice of eating places and sufficient shops for your day-to-day needs. There is also a public bus service as well as a range of organised excursions on foot, by coach, bike or boat, making this an ideal base for those who enjoy a quiet holiday but do not wish to depend on a hire car.
