Tersanas Village Apartments

CreteChania and the North-West › Tersanas, Akrotiri Peninsula

Situated on a hillside between the village of Chorafakia and the beach at Tersanas, this cluster of apartments stands in mature gardens and offers real Cretan home cooking in its on-site taverna.

The cluster of nineteen apartments that make up Tersanas Village is situated on the hillside just above a pretty sandy cove and amidst delightfully mature gardens. From the individual balconies there are panoramic views across the bay and back to the White Mountains and the neighbouring taverna, owned by the same friendly family as the apartments, is quite aptly named Sunset.

There are a variety of one and two bedroom apartments in the small, two storey, white-washed buildings and each apartment has a small kitchenette with a hotplate, fridge and electric kettle and a separate shower room. Air-conditioning is provided (for a small local charge) and each apartment has a small television for local channels although most visitors prefer to sit on their balconies and watch the ever-changing light across the bay.

The terrace around the large swimming pool is another favourite place for guests to relax and enjoy the gardens and in the summer months this is a popular spot for families as there is a special children's area incorporated into the pool. For those who prefer to spend their days by the beach it is just a fifteen minute walk down the hill and during the summer season a small beach bar dispenses welcome cooling drinks and snacks.

The hamlet of Chorafakia, with its well-stocked mini-market, pair of local tavernas and a bus stop for the services that run a few times a day between Chania and Stavros, is just a short stroll from Tersanas Village so a hire car is by no means essential for those who merely wish to have a relaxing holiday in a rural spot, however, for those who do wish to explore a little further we recommend hiring a car for at least part of the time.
