Hotel Doña Luisa

Set back just one block from Las Palmas's famous city beach, Playa de las Canteras, this small, recently opened hotel offers comfortable and attractively decorated accommodation in a convenient, central location. The fine sandy beach is just a couple of minutes' walk away, as is the bustling pedestrian promenade that runs its length, which is lined with numerous cafés, bars and restaurants. In the opposite direction, it takes just a few minutes to walk to the port with its modern shopping centre El Muelle, the aquarium Poema del Mar and the Santa Catalina park and bus station. The city's historic districts of Vegueta and Triana, the impressive cathedral and several museums are a short bus or taxi ride away.

With just 35 rooms, the Hotel Doña Luisa has a friendly, personal feel. The decor is very contemporary, with the muted, natural tones of the fabrics and furnishings brightened up by colourful, large-scale photographs of the island's landmarks and landscapes strategically placed on the doors and above the beds. All guestrooms have modern en-suite shower rooms with hairdryers and are equipped with air-conditioning (centrally regulated), smart-TV (limited English-language channels), safety-deposit boxes (small local charge applies), tee/coffee-making facilities and free WiFi. Whilst the rooms do not have balconies, guests can enjoy the communal roof terrace with views over the rooftops of the city and glimpses of the beach and the sea.

Other common areas include the charmingly furnished lobby that adjoins the reception and the breakfast room where a tempting buffet is laid on every morning. Our standard prices include breakfast, but we also offer a reduction for bookings on a room-only basis for any guests who prefer to just grab a morning coffee and pastry in one of the local cafés.
