Villa Acequia

The Canary IslandsLanzarote › Tinajo

A beautiful detached villa with a secluded feel, yet just a short walk from a traditional village and within easy driving distance from the unspoilt beaches of Famara

  • 3-bedroom villa for 2-6 people
  • Self-Catering
  • Private swimming pool
  • Car hire included

If you are looking for a villa with no close neighbours, yet do not necessarily want to drive to go out for a meal in the evenings, Villa Acequia offers the best of both worlds. Standing approximately 80 metres from the closest other house, and surrounded by farmland, this attractive villa feels delightfully private and secluded, but is within easy walking distance of the little village of Tinajo, which has all the facilities you are likely to need on a day to day basis including a small supermarket, a bank and a petrol station. The nearest local restaurant is just 500 metres from the villa, and there are several others within a 15-minute walk. Using the hire car that is included in the cost of your holiday, it takes around 15 minutes to reach the north coast village of Caleta de Famara, a great spot for a light lunch of freshly caught fish or seafood, and the unspoilt beach of Famara, which is popular with surfers (please note that the beach can be prone to high waves and treacherous currents, so please exercise care when swimming).

Villa Acequia offers spacious accommodation for up to 6 people and has been furnished and decorated to a very high standard, with attractive floor tiles, beautiful window frames and quality solid-wood furnishings. As the house stands on a slope, the accommodation is on two levels. The main floor is on the upper level and comprises a living room with a large satellite-TV (limited English-language channels) and DVD player, an adjoining sun room with another comfortable sofa and a dining table, a well equipped kitchen with ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher, a laundry room with washing machine, two bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a bathroom. The double bedroom opens onto a balcony with lovely views across the village and the rolling volcanic hills to the distant ocean (the same outlook can be enjoyed from the sunroom). Stairs lead down from the kitchen to the lower floor where you will find another double bedroom with its own shower room, and a small fitness room.

The pool area is accessed from the kitchen and is enclosed by a lava stone wall, which provides not only shelter from the wind but also complete privacy. The swimming pool itself is approximately 8 x 4 metres in size and is surrounded by a paved terrace. Wooden sun-loungers are provided, and there is a built-in barbecue for those occasions when you would rather eat at home than pop into the village.

Individual villas in such an unspoilt setting, yet within easy reach of local restaurants, are quite hard to come by, so Villa Acequia is justly popular, and early booking is highly recommended.
