Hacienda San Jorge

Standing only 50 metres from the black sand beaches of Los Cancajos, this attractively designed and well-established Aparthotel is perfect for those who wish to enjoy a relaxing stay on La Palma without the need to hire a car. Los Cancajos is La Palma's main beach resort, and - although small and rather quiet compared to resorts on other islands - boasts a decent choice of restaurants as well as basic shops for your day-to-day needs. The island capital, Santa Cruz is less than 5km away and is served by a frequent public bus service. Coach excursions to other parts of the island and guided walks can also be arranged from here.

Hacienda San Jorge comprises 155 apartments in four separate buildings arranged amidst subtropical gardens around a gorgeous lagoon-style seawater swimming pool. Designed by a local artist, the buildings echo the traditional architecture of the Canary Islands, with pastel coloured walls, pretty balconies and handsome sash windows. Great care was taken to respect the site's existing vegetation, so within the beautifully landscaped grounds of the hotel you will find giant Indian laurels, an abundance of palm trees and even some ancient dragon trees. Strolling along thoughtfully laid-out paths, you will stumble upon stone sculptures and bubbling fountains, a duck pond and a cactus garden, so garden lovers will certainly feel at home here.

The apartments themselves are spacious and tastefully furnished. Each comprises a twin bedroom, a lounge with a sofa bed, satellite TV and kitchenette (with hob, fridge and microwave), a bathroom with hairdryer and a balcony or terrace with garden views. We offer renovated Premium Apartments with a choice of either private airport transfers or car hire, whilst car hire is automatically included in our packages in the Standard Apartments, which have the same layout but have not yet been modernised.

The hotel's restaurant, which is attractively situated between the garden and the seafront, serves an extensive buffet breakfast, which is included in our holiday packages. There is also a half board option which includes an extensive evening buffet, but with the resort centre just a 5-minute walk away, most of our guests prefer the flexibility to dine out, either in Los Cancajos itself or in nearby Santa Cruz. mini-market on site, whilst the resort centre is just a 5-minute walk away.

Other facilities include a gym, a small on-site mini-market, and a spacious lounge and bar, where live music can be enjoyed some evenings.
